Emergency Evacuations Policy

The purpose of this policy is to provide clear direction for staff and licensees to follow to deal with
emergency situations. The procedures set out steps for staff to follow to support the safety and well-
being of everyone involved.
Clear policies and procedures will support all individuals to manage responses and responsibilities
during an emergency, resulting in the safest outcomes possible.

1. Building Blocks Nursery School will post a note for parents/guardians on the childcare centre entrance with information on the evacuation site, where it is possible and safe to do so.
2. Parents/guardians will notify of the emergency situation, evacuation and the location to pick up their children via email, phone or posted notice on the doors of the centre.
